About Cantonment College Jashore

Cantonment College Jashore, the first establishment by the Directorate of Military Lands and Cantonments (DMLC) under the Ministry of Defence, started its journey on 01 July 1969, with 5 students in Dawood Public School. Out of these 5 students, Shaheed Altaf got martyred while fighting in our glorious liberation war. Captain Karim Uddin Ahmed was the first principal of this institution. In 1983, the college was shifted to its present campus. It has introduced BA, BSS, BCom, and BSc courses in 1995. Under the mentorship of Late General Md. Mustafizur Rahman, Graduate (Honours) and Post Graduate courses began in 1996 and in 1999 respectively. 

In 2002, this institution became the best college in Bangladesh. During the first GPA session in 2003, a student secured GPA 5, the only one from Jashore Education Board. The college celebrated its ‘Golden Jubilee’ in 2019. 

Currently, the college offers courses in Science, Humanities, and Business Studies at the higher secondary level, as well as Degree (Pass), Graduate (Honours), and Post-Graduate courses. It became a public college in 2015 and was recognized as the best educational institution in Khulna Division during the National Education Week 2022.

The college also fosters extracurricular events like BNCC, Rover Scout, and various club activities. BNCC cadets are eligible to participate ISSB without appearing at preliminary examinations. Students have access to ISSB practice ground on the campus. Through unyielding dedication, CCJ continues to inspire students in order to attain academic excellence and building morale character.
